| A pair of embossed die-cut Victorian scrap paper
dolls produced by Raphael Tuck. This set
is identified as The Heavenly Twins>, the first paper dolls produced by Raphael
Tuck, British Patent No. 11367. Patent
applied for in 1893. Each is comprised
to two scrap pieces--one the babies head; the other the arms and body. A tissue gown and hat were to be applied to
complete the doll (hat lacking on white paper doll). The dolls were created with a black and white
doll. Each with a somber face and
nipple from bottle in place. Each measures
approx. 5 3/4" x 3".
Originally with heavy stock sleeve--lacking. Condition: overall excellent. See additional information below. Scarce item. |
