| A 3 ¾” x 5 ½” top folding valentine with
elaborate deeply embossed cover, backed with red paper. The lace paper is embellished
in silver and highlights two gazebos at side.
The center depicts a couple walking arm in arm. Two angels float on a cloud overhead and a
small Dresden Cupid flies above at left “Accept my heart” is an applied printed
message trailing from his hand. Marked Windsor (1840s-50s)
Condition: light surface wear. The red
tissue is partially affixed to the inside blank page of the valentine. Some
scrapbook residue on reverse. |
