A complete set of playing cards for the Game of Dr. Busby by W and S.B. Ives, 1843. Includes the twenty (20) playing cards, but no box or instructions. This was one of the first card games printed and published in America. The hand colored cards measures 2 ?" x 3 1/2". The back of the card is a solid light blue green. There are four suites - The 1-Mortar & Pestle, 2-Pan of Milk, 3-Eye , 4-Spade This game was invented by Miss Anne W. Abbott of Beverly, Mass. in 1843. Three cards are missing the plain blue green back with minimal impact. General condition: light. Hard to find item.
