California The Beautiful, Camera Studies by California Artists with Selections in Prose and Verse from Western Writers, compiled by Paul Elder.  Published by Paul Elder and Company, San Francisco, 1911.  First Edition.  Paper covered boards, burlap spine, pasted-on illustration on front cover.  72 Numbered pages with poems, prose, and 37 tipped in sepia illustrations.  No dust jacket.  Finely produced in arts and crafts style.  Writings by Edward Pollack, Joaquin Miller David Starr Jordan, Frank Norris, Bret Harte, John Muir, Helen Hunt Jackson, etc.  Illustrations, from photos by Harold A. Taylor, Harold A. Parker, Arnold Genthe, H.C.
