| Charming large format four two-sided page handmade children's book. It is constructed of linen with applied pages that have been written and drawn in ink and colored with crayon. It is titled A Little Story Book Naive drawings complete rhyming verse. Signed by Marion Hoye, Christmas 1919. The cover depicts a boy telling tales to a rabbit. The first two inside pages are a verse about a bee eating an ant followed by many larger animals eating the more vulnerable smaller animal and concludes with a lion wondering why a wolf tasted exactly like an ant. The next two pages are devoted to the all to familiar question "Why?" often asked by small children. The final two pages are about Bossie Cow and why babies suck their toes... A truely charming book. Measures 12 1/2" x 10". Condition: excellent. |
